Wow!!!

November 28, 2008

As you all know, I love quotes, and I collect them.  This one blew me away:

“Whatever your past has been, you have a spotless future.”
Melanie Gustafson

Melanie, I’m not quite sure who you are, but you really gave me a lift this week.  That thought just lifted my heart.  I hope it does the same for you.

Wishing you countless Special Moments every day.

Love,

Sharon.

Hello Again

November 28, 2008

Its been a few weeks since my last post – and this time my absence is not because I haven’t been on track, thank God!

Things are really, really busy.  I am studying again, and have started 2 new jobs.  It is hectic, and it all gets too much sometimes, but the thing that is keeping me on track is my Special Moments Journal.  I have been recording my special moments more regularly again, and it really helps me keep the focus on the small stuff – because that’s where the Special Moments happen.

I have been teaching a Personal Development class and as part of the class I gave everyone a notebook so they could record their special moments.  It has been very interesting working with the group over the past few weeks, and each week checking in to see how their special moments journals are going.  Some of the class didn’t go for the idea at all, but some did, and with great results.

Wishing you countless Special Moments every day.

Love,

Sharon.

Make Someone’s Day – It’s So Easy!!!

November 6, 2008

A really lovely thing happened to me today.  I was at the gym (reluctant to go, but when I went I really enjoyed it).

When I came out to my car, my husband, Tony, had seen my car parked outside the gym and had left me a note scribbled on a scrap of paper on the front of the dashboard.  Now, I won’t tell you all what it said – that was just for me!  But I was simply delighted.  It gave me a real lift.

I paid for someone’s coffee today, without them knowing until after I had gone.  Also, it’s my son’s birthday today, and he’s not expecting a surprise when I collect him from school.  Its a little surprise, but I hope it helps make his day.  I’m sure there will be lots of other people I can help feel good.  This is great!!!!

Wishing you countless Special Moments every day.

Two Welcome Nudges

November 6, 2008

I have been completely out of tune with Special Moments for the past while – you might have noticed a lack of blog entries.

Yesterday, my first nudge came from my gorgeous sister, who said she had been checking into the blog to see new entries and was disappointed each time.  It was lovely to hear that people out there like the blog.  I am still a reluctant blogger – it just feels weird.

The second nudge came yesterday morning at work.  (I got a fabulous new job working with children with learning difficulties in a special school in Kilkenny.  I give them reflexology treatments, and to say I love it is to understate how I feel about it entirely.  They are all really special little souls, and it is a privilege to work with them.)

I was getting my case notes out of my bag, and out fell my Special Moments notebook.  Hmmm.  It has been underused of late – in fact completely forgotten about.  Well, always one to take a nudge, I had a few moments before my first client of the day, so I decided to write that mornings Special Moments in the notebook.  Result?  There had been many Special Moments that morning, and the moments I spent getting ready for my first client became even more Special because I spent them noting the Special Moments I had already had, which made me feel great!

Why, when we know that something is really really good for us, do we forget about doing it?  Why, when I know that something is really really good for me, do I allow myself to forget about doing it?

Hmmmm.  That’s the only answer I have to that conundrum so far.  If I get a better one, I’ll let you know.  If you have a better one, please, please, please let me know!!!!!

Wishing you countless Special Moments every day.

Love,

Sharon.
