Laughter Truly IS the Best Medicine!

September 20, 2011

Laughter Yoga - Yes, you guessed it - HILARIOUS!

Yesterday, I had the good fortune to be invited to train as a Laughter Yoga Facilitator. The training took place, not on a beach like this photo (because this is Ireland!), but at the Hope Cancer Support Centre. A group of therapists and volunteers came together to train to facilitate Laughter Yoga. We knew nothing about it. We were apprehensive and curious, and we were so, so lucky!!! It was fantasic! We laughed and laughed and laughed. I felt silly, I felt relaxed, I felt light-hearted, I felt just bloody great!

I tried to explain what the workshop had been like to Tony and the lads when I got home, but they thought I was mad! I think I am going to have to get them to experience it for themselves. Tonight, I am going to see if I can get a laughter session going at home … I’ll report back!

Wishing you love and lots and lots of laughter!

Snow in Ireland – Concentrated Special Moments!

February 2, 2009

We had snow today – by that I mean PROPER snow!  The place looked beautiful!

This afternoon we were all home and all the evening activities were cancelled because the roads were dangerous.  We were all doing various different things in or around the kitchen when Tony came in, all dressed up for the weather, and made us all go out to make a snowman!  I was reluctant, if I’m honest, but we had fantastic fun, and “Snowy” is currently staring in the patio doors at me!  He looks great.

Wishing you countless Special Moments every day!

Liverpool F.C. – You Rock!!!

April 8, 2008

My God – the pressure!!!  The Murphy Family have just been watching the Liverpool -v- Arsenal game and it was nail-biting stuff!!  I must admit I didn’t watch until the last 15 minutes.  I was leaving the soccer fanatics to their passion and I was busy gardening, which is my passion.  However the shouts and roars eventually pulled me in, and when I got there I was hooked!!!

Liverpool won – the hubby is in fantastic form – the kids are delighted – the atmosphere is wonderful.  Concentrated Special Moments in the Murphy household.

I really enjoyed the moment, but I hadn’t quite registered it as a Special Moment until my son, Ciaran, said “Mam, you should put a post on your blog about this”.  Now there was another Special Moment right there – the kids really get the Special Moments philosophy, and I just love when they teach me and remind me about it.

Have to go – the texts are flying in from other Liverpool supporters and those that know well that this is a Liverpool FC house, through and through.

The “Real World” is pretty great

March 31, 2008

Hi again,

I’m just back from a fantastic weekend with Tony in my spiritual home in Connemara.  We are both 40 around this time, and we took the opportunity to get away together.

Well, it was wonderful.  It was fantastic to get some time together with no responsibilities, no kids schedules, ssshh – no kids!!!

We came back to the “real world” yesterday, but do you know what?  The real world is pretty fantastic.  We came back with batteries re-charged, and with lots of new ideas and new energy to make our lives and our businesses work better.

So basically a weekend of concentrated Special Moments has contributed to me feeling great in my everyday life, and that’s what the whole purpose of the Special Moments exercise, the Special Moments philosophy and mindset is.  Life happens every day – even rainy Mondays – I live in Ireland, so we get more than our fair share of those!  Mind you, we talk about them all the time, so I think we feel we have more of them than we actually do!

Better – The Theme for my Forties

March 27, 2008

I am fast approaching my 40th birthday.  As you know, Tony reached this milestone (for milestone read excuse to kick our heels up and celebrate, and also to take stock, of course!) last week.  Its my turn in a couple of weeks.

I found the theme for my Forties.  Its a song by Tom  Baxter called Better.  It’s on his new album, and if you haven’t heard it, make it your business to find it.  Its fantastic.

This weekend my mam is coming to babysit, and Tony and I are headed off to spend two nights in our favourite place in the world – Ballinahinch Castle in Connemara in the West of Ireland.  It will be a weekend filled with Special Moments – time to relax, celebrate and dream – Yahoo!!!
